The Nov. 16 heavyweight fight that’ll pit Poland’s Tomasz Adamek against Ukraine’s Vyacheslav Glazkov has a site, according to promoter Main Events.
The Adamek-Glazkov bout will take place at Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, N.Y. The IZOD Center in East Rutherford, N.J., and Sands Casino Resort in Bethlehem, Pa., also were considered for a card headlined by a 12-round elimination match that’ll be broadcast by NBC on a Saturday afternoon.
The winner between Adamek (49-2, 29 KOs), a resident of Kearny, N.J., and Glazkov (15-0-1, 11 KOs) will become the IBF’s No. 2 contender to its heavyweight champion, Wladimir Klitschko (61-3, 51 KOs).
The 28-year-old Glazkov drew with Malik Scott (35-1-1, 12 KOs) in a 10-round fight Feb. 23 in Huntington, N.Y., but bounced back to stop journeyman Byron Polley (25-16-1, 11 KOs, 2 NC) in the second round Aug. 3 in Uncasville, Conn. The 36-year-old Adamek defeated Dominick Guinn (34-10-1, 23 KOs) by unanimous decision in his last fight, a 10-rounder also Aug. 3 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville.
