Abregu Ready For Anyone at 147, 154, Cotto at 160

Luis Carlos Abregu is looking for a dance partner and he does not care who it is, he just wants to get back in the ring and prove that he belongs with the elite fighters of the world.

After year layoff, the tough Argentinian come back in April and won a rough and tumble affair against then undefeated Jean Carlos Prada in his hometown of Salta, Argentina, Abregu hit the deck during the exciting fight but he came back to put away Prada in the eighth round before more than 10,000 fans in the local soccer stadium.

Abregu (36-1, 29 KOs) of Salta, Argentina has now won seven consecutive, six inside the distance including his dismantling of then undefeated prospect Thomas Dulorme, since his one and only professional loss to the two-time world champion Timothy Bradley Jr. on July 17 of 2010 in Palm Springs, California.

Abregu, who seems to always be on the short list of candidates to face the name boxers in the welterweight division, has yet to able to get one of the top guys in the ring.

“He might not be the most feared boxer in the world, but he is on that short list”, said his agent Sean Gibbons.

For now Abregu is penciled in for the Manny Pacquaio undercard in November in Macau, but has not found a willing opponent to take him on.

“If not at 147, Abregu is willing to up to 154 to seek a world title and why not think of 160 where Miguel Cotto seems to be looking for a foe for his next fight”, said his manager, Pablo Martinez.

Abreu is willing to take any and all comers; they just don’t want to come and take him on

Would love to see abregu get back in the mix he's an exciting boxer puncher that can hang w. Just about anyone in his weight class

he'd be too small at 160.. a fight against Provodnikov at 147 would be a good one.

Abregu should have 2 losses on his record 1 to bradley and 1 to david estrada.
