Abner Mares-Cristian Esquivel Not Going Forward

Is has been announced in Mexico that WBC super bantamweight champion Abner Mares (24-0-1, 13KOs) will not make the first defense of his title on August 25th in Puebla, Mexico against Christian Esquivel (25-3, 18KOs). Last week the fight was announced by Gala Boxing. No reason was provided for the cancellation, but the Mares camp promises to provide more information in the coming days.

Moreno needs to move up to 122. So that GBP can make Mares vs Moreno. I got Mares beating Moreno if they fight.

an injury would have been leaked so who knows, but as a previous post put it, & I agree, match him w/the Viking, good contrast of styles, though Abner's experience level is far greater...
