Abner Cotto To Return on The Canelo-Lopez Undercard

By Jhonny Gonzalez

Lightweight contender Abner Cotto (14-0, 6KOs) has been informed that he will be a part of the untelevised undercard to the September 15th quadrupleheader at the MGM Grad in Las Vegas. In the main event, WBC 154-pound champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez will challenge Josesito Lopez. Cotto was in action this past Saturday night on the Khan-Garcia undercard at the Mandalay Bay. He stopped Juan Montiel in the eight round.

"The people at Golden Boy Promotions was pleased with my showing and confirmed that I will be involved with the September card. I will take several days off and then return to the gym to start working. I hope it's a good challenge for me," Cotto told Carlos Gonzalez.
