Dangerous Colombian fighter Hevinson Herrera (15-7-1,10 KOs) has accepted a proposal to face Abner "Pin" Cotto (12-0, 5 KOs), which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, February 18. The fight will headline "Boxeo Boricua in Caguas: Next Level" in Caguas, PR.
Hevinson replaces Guillermo Sánchez, who had to pull out the fight because of an injury to his left hand. Abner will defend his WBC FECARBOX lightweight championship, and the two boxers will also fight for the vacant Americas lightweight championship of the World Boxing Board (WBB).
"Injuries in boxing are very common and it leads us to make adjustments. This motivates me even more and I know that I will get more experience out of this fight. I have had a great camp and I am in the best condition of my career. I know Hevinson is a strong fighter who comes forward, but I will remove him from my path," said Abner.
Also on the card - Miguel "El Loco" Robles, Braulio Santos, Edgardo "Sasso" Lopez, Luis "Rocky" Cosme and John "Cowi" Herrera, among others fighters. "Boxeo Boricua in Caguas: Next Level" at the Roger Mendoza Coliseum in Caguas, from 7 pm, will be televised on "Solo Boxeo: Tecate" which airs weekly on Telefutura.
