Mikkel Kessler says he will quit boxing if he loses his world title fight with Carl Froch. The 34-year-old WBA belt holder takes on IBF world super-middleweight champion Froch, 35, in a unification bout at London's O2 Arena on 25 May. Kessler inflicted the first defeat of Brit Froch's career in a fight in the former's native Denmark in 2010.

And he is willing to put his career on the line for the return bout.

"If I lose, I'm going to quit," Kessler told Sky Sports News. "If I lose fair and square I am out of here. But I'm not going to lose, I am going to win."

Kessler's trainer Jimmy Montoya says he will abide with any decision the fighter makes but believes the WBA champion will be too strong for Froch.

"Knockout," predicted Montoya. "This is not a fight for a decision. If Mikkel does the things he is supposed to do he will knock him out."

Kessler has won 46 of his 48 fights, 35 of those coming by knockout, while Froch has won 30 of 32 bouts, 22 by knockout.
