Barclays Center, Brooklyn, New York - The drama nearly exploded during the official weigh-in for Saturdays Showtime televised quardupleheader. Tensions began yesterday when it was revealed that Eric Morales reportedly tested positive for Clenbuterol. USADA [United States Anti Drug Agency] informed Golden Boy Promotions , and both fighters, that there were issues with a drug test taken by Morales.
It is still 100% unclear whether the Danny Garcia will defend his WBC/WBA junior welterweight titles against Morales on Saturday night. While Golden Boy's CEO Richard Schaefer insists all parties will await the outcome of Morales' B sample, the New York State Athletic Commission has yet to weigh in on the matter.
Both fighters made weight for Saturday night's headliner, but the continued bad blood spilled between camps. Garcia weighed , while Morales - who missed weight prior to their first meet - came in at 139.2 lb., although he had to weigh in twice.
During their face to face - Garcia called Morales "a cheater" and threatened to "f*** him up." Garcia continued to get further enraged until close friend and Golden Boy partner Bernard Hopkins held him back.
