Middleweight Sergio Martinez (49-2-2, 28KOs) is ready to fight - if Floyd Mayweather Jr. (42-0, 26KOs) is willing to face him. There have been rumblings that Mayweather "would consider" a possible fight with Martinez at some point in the future, but the weight and the terms are unknown.

During a few recent interviews on BoxingScene.com, Martinez's promoter Lou DiBella threw out the possibility of a catch-weight meeting at 150-pounds. Martinez made 157 for his last fight and Mayweather moves up to 154 for a May 5th meeting with Miguel Cotto. Martinez is first hoping to finalize a fight with WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. for September.

"My big dream is to become the best pound for pound fighter. It's like the ultimate goal for me. At this moment, for me, the best out there is Mayweather. But once I fight him, and beat him, I'll be satisfied. For me personally, a fight against Floyd would be the biggest and most difficult of my career," Martinez said.
