Last Friday in Bangkok was an edge of your seat battle between Mexico's Adrian "Confessor" Hernandez, who lost his WBC junior flyweight title, and Thailand's Pornsawan Porpramook. It could be the "2011 Fight of the Year" for the WBC, confirmed Jose Sulaiman, the President of the sanctioning body. Hernandez was not prepared for the harsh heat of Thailand and he didn't like the gloves that were selected for the fight. He hopes to have a rematch in 2012.

"I lost, but I will still be champion," said Hernandez, speaking from Thailand, where he celebrated Christmas Eve with his team. I feel very sad about losing my WBC belt. It was a tough fight, the hardest of my life. I was well prepared and I was confident about winning. Porpramook is very strong and durable. The heat and humidity had me tired from the ninth round on. I did not like the gloves [used in the fight] because I lost power and I couldn't adapt to the conditions of that country, but there is no excuse because Porpramook was the better man that day."

"I promise that in 2012 I get my title. I will defeat Porpramook and I will ask my promoter to set up a rematch for next year."
