In a WBC heavyweight final eliminator, Olympic gold medal winner Odlanier Solis (17-0, 12 KOs) beat veteran Ray Austin (28-5-4, 18 KOs) by disqualification after ten rounds of action. After refusing to break his hold on Solis and nearly sending them both flying over the top rope, Austin punched Solis after well after the tenth round bell and was quickly disqualified. Tavoris Cloud (22-0, 18 KOs) defended his IBF light heavyweight belt with a twelve round unanimous decision over Fulgencio Zuniga (24-5-1, 21 KOs). The scores were 117-108, 118-108 and 116-109. Zuniga was dropped twice in the contest.

In his first fight in over two years, Ricardo Mayorga (29-7-1, 23 KOs) stopped Michael Walker (19-6-2, 12 KOs) in the ninth round.
