LAS VEGAS, NV - BoxingScene.com caught up with WBC interim-junior welterweight champion Lucas Matthysse shortly after his vicious first round knockout victory over Mike Dallas at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.  He said that he was pleasantly surprised that Dallas brought the fight to him and didn't run around the ring.

"I thought that he would stay on the outside and box. I was very happy when he came out aggressive coming forward. We were able to put on a great fight," Matthysse explained.

The heavy handed Argentine is known for his power but said that was by far the best knockout of his career. He said that he was very happy to start off the new year with an exclamation.

"I am very happy to get such a great knockout. This was a great start to the year. I hope that everyone really liked it.

"I've never had a knockout like that. Nothing like that at all. That makes me very happy.  It is definitely the best knockout of my career," Matthysse told BoxingScene.com.
