A purse bid will take place this Saturday to see who will promote the possible elimination bout between Heavyweights Chris Arreola and Bermane Stiverne, promoter Dan Goossen told Boxingscene.com.

"The purse bid will take place on Saturday in Las Vegas," said Goossen, Arreola's promoter.

Arreola was previously rumored to fight at Staples Center in Los Angeles on November 10th. However, a possible fight with Stiverne could push the fight back later in the fall.

Arreola is reportedly already training in his hometown of Riverside.

Should the fight be made between Arreola and Stiverne, the winner will earn the right to challenge current WBC heavyweight champion Vitaly Klitschko. On September 8th, Klitschko successfully defended the title, stopping Manuel Charr in the fourth round in Moscow.

Arreola is currently ranked number one by the WBC, while Stiverne is ranked at number two. He (35-2, 20 KOs) knocked out Eric Molina in the first round of his last fight on February 18th. He has won his last seven fights in a row since his close 12 round majority decision to Tomasz Adamek in April of 2012.

If the fight is made between Stiverne and he comes out victorious, Arreola will hope to avenge his first defeat at the hands of Klitschko back in September of 2009.

The Haitian-born Stiverne (22-1, 20 KOs) has nowhere near fought the level of opposition that Arreola has fought in his career. His most notable victory was a 10th round stoppage victory over former contender Ray Austin.

Stiverne was victorious in his last fight on April 14th, winning an eight round unanimous decision over Willie Herring. He is unbeaten in his last 11 bouts since a fourth round stoppage loss to Demetrius King in July of 2007.
