Coliseo Ruben Rodriguez in Bayamon, Puerto Rico - In a bout for the WBO Latino lightweight title, Jose Gonzalez (17-0, 13KOs) knocked out Eddie Soto (12-3, 4KOs) at 1:10 of the first round. Soto was decked hard on his back with a big right hand. 

Upset minded Epifanio Mendoza (33-12, 28 KOs), who started his career at junior middleweight, knocked out previously undefeated heavyweight prospect Carlos Negron (13-1, 9 KOs). Mendoza badly hurt Negron at the end of the second round, but the Puerto Rican boxer was saved by the bell. In the third, Mendoza dropped him twice to finish him off at 2:03 into the round.

Negron, making his fourth appearance at heavyweight, was being built slowly by Puerto Rico Best Boxing as a possible future threat and he planned to target a regional title in 2012. Negron, at 6'6, began his career at cruiserweight. Mendoza was making his second appearance at the weight. During his career, he shocked other unbeten boxers like Rubin Williams and Tokunbo Olajide, but during his recent cruiserweight run he was overwhelmed and stopped by such fighters as Lateef Kayode and BJ Flores.

Bantamweight prospect McJoe Arroyo (8-0, 5 KOs) returned for the first time after rehabing an injury to his jaw, and destroyed Ivan Moxey(2-6, 1 KO) in less than a minute of the first round.
