Marco Antonio Barrera is not returning to the sport to prove anything to the public. He wants to erase the memory of last year's beating that he took from Amir Khan in Manchester, England. During the first round action Barrera sustained a very bad gash on his head that never stopped bleeding and evantually forced the doctors and referee to stop the fight. Khan was awarded a five round technical decision.

On June 26 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, Barrera will return after 15-months of being away from the ring, to face Brazilian boxer Adailton De Jesus (26-4, 21KO's).

"I know that in my career I do not have anything to prove, but I don't want the people to have that image stuck in their heads [of the Khan loss]," Barerra said. "I am not taking my next opponent lightly. If I did I definitely would be throwing away everything I did, but we are taking this fight very seriously."

Barrera was asked about a fourth fight with Mexican rival Erik Morales. He would consider it, if Morales dropped in weight, but a fourth fight with Morales is not in his plans.

"It's not in my plans because first thing, he fights in another division [welterweight]. If he were to ever drop down in weight, then we'll see."
