At the Discoteca El Alebrije in Acapulco, Guerrero, Mexico, Giovani Segura (23-1-1, 19KOs) retained his WBA junior flyweight title when he stopped Walter Tello (14-4, 6KOs) in the fourth round. It was a brawl from the start with the more experienced and harder punching Segura getting the better of the action. After landing a very hard hook to the jaw as Tello was against the ropes, the ref jumped in to stop the action.

Lightweight contender Urbano Antillon (27-1, 20KOs) picked another win by stopping Luis Arceo (22-10-2, 15KOs) in the third round due to a cut. The cut was caused by a punch and received a TKO ruling when the fight was stopped. It marked the second win for Antillon since being stopped last year by Miguel Acotsa.

Junior welterweight contender Omar Chavez (20-0, 14KOs), the other son of Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., destroyed Rodrigo Juarez (15-11, 6KOs) in a single round of action.
