Vitali Klitschko-Nikolai Valuev Talks Have Cooled Down

The negotiations for a potential WBC heavyweight title fight, between champion Vitali Klitschko and challenger Nikolai Valuev, have hit a major snag. BoxingScene.com was informed that Don King, co-promoter to Valuev, is holding firm on his $4 million dollar demand. The requested amount is above and beyond what Klitschko's side is willing to pay in order to secure Valuev for a fight.

Shelly Finkel, Klitschko's adviser, spoke with King a week ago, and the veteran promoter stood his ground on the $4 million dollar demand. The two sides have not spoken since. Klitschko really wants the fight but Valuev's price tag is too expensive.

If Valuev falls through, the pickings for Klitschko are slim. One option is to wait for something to come up. Klitschko would rather stay busy than sit back for a fight to come along. Alexander Povetkin, who is waiting in the wings for his mandatory shot at the Wladimir Klitschko-Eddie Chambers winner, could be an option. The winner of David Haye-John Ruiz is another.

Of course it has to be this fuking azzhole king to screw everything up. Why doesnt this idiot just go away already and enjoy all the money he stole from tyson. Klit needs to forget this fight cause anything with king is bullish. Try to make a fight with oliver mccall now

Valuev isn't worth $4 million, but like someone else said King is trying to cash out knowing that Vitali needs a fight like this, and the price to basically make Valuev damaged goods-- 2 losses for Valuev in a row might make it hard to get any worthwhile price out of him in the future. Here's a ...

Waiting for the Haye-Ruiz winner would mean not keeping busy. So that doesn't make much sense. Oh, and King's a wanker.

Valuev just lost to Haye. Why should he get to fight Vitali? I don't even like that fight, I hope it doesn't happen.
I want to see this Valuev fight. Screw you Don King!
King is screwing over not only Vitali, but Valuev as well.
