The manager of Nikolai Valuev, Boris Dimitrov, confirmed that the bout between the Russian boxer and WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko is possible. Both fighters have already approved the bout, and it may take place in April or May of 2010.

“At the moment we're having negotiations with the best fighters of the world who hold leading positions in the ratings, - told Dimitrov to lifesports.ru. – One of them is Vitali Kitschko. He is interested in the fight with Nikolai too. We plan to have our next fight in April or May, it’s too early to name the opponent yet, but the meeting with Klitschko is possible.

Now Nikolay is training on the regular basis and we don't give him much workload. But in the next year we’ll start to prepare for the fight seriously”.

Vitali Klitschko has recently stated that he indeed is interested in the fight with the former WBA champion, but has assumed that the negotiations may fall through because of Valuev’s promoters, Don King and Sauerland Event.
