According to Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports, the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs Manny Pacquiao bout is close to a done deal for March 13, 2010. Mayweather has agreed to the fight terms and Pacquiao's promoter, Bob Arum, is making a trip to Manila, Philippines, to finalize the fight with Manny.

The promoters wanted the fight take place on May 1, but Pacquiao threw a wrench in those plans when announced a political campaign run in the Philippines. He filed the paperwork on Tuesday. That left two options for the promoters, push the fight up to March 13, or push it back to September. If they would have pushed it back to September, both fighters were going to take interim-bouts. Per trainer Freddie Roach, Pacquiao's side was considering a move to 154 to face Top Rank promoted Yuri Foreman for the WBA title. Mayweather was being rumored for a bout with Matthew Hatton in the UK.

Dallas Cowboys Stadium, Las Vegas' MGM Grand and the New Orleans Superdome are the three main venues in the running to host the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight.
