A source out of Germany has advised BoxingScene.com Alexander Povetkin (17-0, 12KOs) will likely face Leo Nolan (27-1, 10KOs) on December 5 in Germany. Povetkin's side passed on a possible fight with Owen Beck and didn't reach terms with Cedric Boswell.

Nolan has never fought any fighters on Povetkin's level. He managed to upset Lou Savarese back in 2004 but was upset himself by Hector Ferreyro in 2007. Povetkin, the IBF mandatory, is taking this fight before a showdown in 2010 with champion Wladimir Klitschko.

Atlas knows that when a fighter is trying to add new wrinkles to his game it's a good idea to be selective about who they fight. It's the same reason why Freddie Roach has picked Kotelnik and Salita for Amir Khan.
LOL nolan hasn't fought since since 10-10-08 and fought only once in '08..looks like atlas set povetkin up with an easy fight compared to fighters like boswell, or even beck would have been a stronger opponent..lol
Povetkin is being foolish to listen to t...
