Undefeated WBC lightweight champion Edwin Valero (25-0, 25KOs) is pumped for bigger things in 2010. He defends his title against Mexican challenger Hector Velazquez on December 12 at El Nuevo Circo in Caracas, Venezuela. Valero was on point for Thursday's 30-day WBC mandated weigh-in. He was stepped on the scales at a ripped 149-pounds. He can weigh no more than 142 a week before the fight.

The knockout king, mentioned in the past as a possible opponent for Manny Pacquiao, believes he is the only fighter with enough power to beat the Filipino champion. Valero also wants Antonio DeMarco and Humberto Soto.

"I feel good and I'm getting ready as always to give the best to the public, especially now that my fight be here in Venezuela. God willing our hand will be raised and then our next fight will be with Antonio DeMarco, the interim champion," Valero said.

"Every fight is important to me, and what matters is winning. I keep waiting for Manny Pacquiao to give me the opportunity. I think I'm the man who can beat him and I'm the only one with the power in his hands to win."

Soto has been calling Valero out. He wants a shot at Valero's title and Valero is more than happy to give him the shot.

"He says that he wants to go after my title, I am ready. I have no problem giving him the opportunity that he wants," Valero said.

exactly right, but if we speak of style! his may be appopriate for Pac... Pac most dangerous punch is his leaning left straight punch which makes it hard for right handed boxer to counter and Valero happens to be a south paw ! where he uses his right hand to block punches ...this power punch of P...
