According to former champion Jorge Arce, a rematch is being planned with unbeaten IBF super flyweight champion Simphiwe Nongqayi on December 19 in Toluca, Mexico. Nongqayi easily won a twelve round decision over Arce back in September in Mexico. The win allowed him to capture the vacant IBF title. Nongqayi also beat Arce's brother Francisco in February.

Arce is already training at Mexico's famous Romanza Gym, working alongside his trainer Nacho Beristain. The fight is do or die for Arce if he wants to remain as a major player at the weight.

Arce didn't look good at all against him a few months ago. I don't think anything would be different...but then again Arce had been singing as a contestant on a Mexican reality show during that time so maybe he was just distracted during training camp :ugh:

Arce should retire, he has good money and popularity. His taken a ton of punishment throughout his career and a rematch would be asking for more. Arce doesn't deal well with lateral movement and Nongqayi will give that combined with quick counter punches. Put that that with his chin and stamina ...

smh, Arce doesn't need anymore punishment. Been through so many wars, he's still young but he needs to either hang it up or take a little break. Nongqayi just gave a complete drubbing last time out and I don't see why he wouldn't do the same again.
