WBA "regular" featherweight champion Yuriorkis Gamboa is ready to fight Juan Manuel Lopez right now. Gamboa and Lopez co-headlined the Latin Fury 12 pay-per-view on Saturday night at the WaMu Theater in New York's Madison Square Garden. Gamboa knocked out Whyber Garcia in four rounds and Lopez was taken to the limit by Rogers Mtagwa.

The co-feature event was put together by Top Rank to futher hype a 2010 showdown between Juanma and Gamboa. Lopez plans to return in yet another warm-up fight on January 23 in Puerto Rico. Gamboa told BoxingScene.com's Bill Emes that he doesn't need a warm-up fight, he would fight Juanma next. If Juanman thinks he is better, Gamboa has called on him to step in the ring to prove it.

"My fights speak for themselves. Obviously I think I am maturing. I expect to get better than this. I don't think Juanma is better than me. I don't need no warm-up fight to fight him. If he wants to prove that he's better than me, let him step in the ring with me," Gamboa said.
