Gabriel Sarmiento, trainer of WBC junior middleweight champion Sergio Martinez, has ripped into Joshua Clottey. Sarmiento became very upset when he found out Clottey turned down Martinez as an opponent for the Pavlik-Williams undercard on December 5. He would certainly understand if Clottey was willing to take the fight - and Top Rank [Clottey's promoter] took the position of turning it down. Numerous parties advised Sarmiento that Clottey had personally turned the fight down.

"I can understand when a promoter doesn't want to fight. But when I hear that a fighter doesn't want to fight, then I know he is a p*ssy and a coward. He is not a warrior. He is a disgrace. Martinez is ready to fight anyone. He told me 'dont tell me who I need to fight, tell me when I have to fight,'" Sarmiento told BoxingScene.com.
