Juan Manuel Marquez is still having a tough time finding sparring partners in Mexico who can emulate the style of his September 19 opponent, Floyd Mayweather Jr. Marquez is sparring often with Alejandro Barrera and Tony Fernandez. He says the two fighters come the closest to copying Mayweather's style.

"In Mexico is has been almost impossible to find sparring partners with the style of Mayweather, but I believe that what is most important here is that Juan is working on his own style and if Juan puts in the work, there could be a big surprise [on September 19]," said trainer Nacho Beristáin to The Record .

Marquez is working on his speed and timing. He knows Mayweather is very fast but he also knows that proper timing of his punches will be the difference in the fight. Activity is also a target. Marquez is training by throwing a lot of punches. He wants to put a lot of pressure on Mayweather.

"It is difficult to find sparring with his style, but the boys here are doing well because what we need is to work with is speed and not so much with power. The plan will be to work a lot with speed. We will continue sparring by throwing a lot of punches in six to eight rounds sessions, and we will look to throw more when I work the mitts," Marquez said.
joan guzman !!! nacho is just plain stupid..
the only reason why I wouldn't go for guzman if I were nacho is because guzman might come into sparring to fuk up jmm instead of helping jmm train for the pbf fight. those sparring matches would be worthy of HBO WCB.
