Junior middleweight prospect Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (39-0, 29KOs) is looking to change a lot of things in his career. For his next fight, on July 25 in Mexico, Chavez is switching his training camp from Mexico to Big Bear, California. The young fighter wants to test out a location and see if it pays off. No opponent has been finalized for the July date. He plans to spend 6 to 7 weeks in Big Bear with his trainer/uncle Rodolfo Chavez.

"I thought I would be out [training] in Mexico but I think it's good to change things up a but an test Big Bear, a place where I've heard good things about," Chavez Jr. told The Record.

"I have not talked to my dad about the possibility of joining the team, it seems that he wants to and the door is open. Soon I will find someone good to come in. I personally like Robert Garcia, who is a quiet trainer and knows how to work very well, but we'll see what happens."

While Shane Mosley sits back and waits for a big fight to come about, Chavez Jr. is said to be interested in taking him up on a possible fight. Chavez, like Mosley, would like to land a fight with Manny Pacquiao. Chavez would like the two of them to come together. Weight shouldn't be an issue since Mosley tends to jump between 147 and 154. If Mosley doesn't get Pacquiao or a Miguel Cotto rematch, Chavez is waiting in the wings.

Looks like this kid has a deathwish. He should keep fighting bums in Tijuana he will never beat a good fighter let alone an elite one.
