BoxingScene.com was advised that some early discussions have taken place to make a fight between undefeated WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch and top contender Allan Green.

Green's team had been in talks for a fight with IBF champion Lucian Bute. Contrary to information reported elsewhere, I hear Green "pricing himself out" had nothing to do with the fight falling apart.

I've heard the main stumbling block had to do with Bute's mandatory Librado Andrade. The winner of Bute-Green would have had to fight Andrade next. Showtime had in interest Bute-Green but I hear the network was not interested in making a commitment to purchase the fight between Andrade and the winner. From the word going around, Bute's people are lining up Joey Spina for his next fight.
Froch definitely has power but is too wide open. His hands are kept pretty low and he punches from too far out. A counter puncher would do real damage to him.
Sorry? have you been living under a rock? did you watch the Froch vs Taylor fight?

Froch's defence is much better when he has an opponent stepping forward instead of taking 3 steps back like Taylor. When he is taking the role of counter-puncher, he is pretty devastating and he really does get great leverage from both hands. I cant say i was massively impressed with Alla...
I hear this argument a lot from Froch fans but the fact is it's been obvious for a LONG time to anyone with eyes that Froch is easy to hit and needs to improve upon his defense. Claiming that he and his trainer will make an adjustment because of the Taylor fight is a little p...
