BoxingScene.com was advised that negotiations have opened up for a super middleweight collision between IBF champion Lucian Bute (24-0, 19KOs) and top contender Allan Green (28-1, 20KOs).

Bute sat ringside last Saturday night at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods in Connecticut, watching Green's two round demolition of Carlos De Leon Jr. Green could not have been more impressive to set up a possible fight with Bute.

If the two sides can reach an agreement, the fight will probably land at the Bell Centre in Montreal [the site of Bute's last eleven fights], and Showtime will televise. No specific date was given. I expect the fight to take place in the next few months.

Green has shown a vulnerable chin in some of his past fights. Librado Andrade showed a few cracks in Bute’s armor last October. He made Bute crumble in the championship rounds with a lethal combination of consistent pressure and power punching. The fight is interesting. Nobody has been able stop Green and he does have the power to put Bute‘s lights out.

Not a bad fight, but as both are available, I would like to see Froch and Bute set something up.

Bute does not get the credit he deserves. He will easily beat Green. He will outbox him on a way to an easy UD. I would love 2 see Bute vs. Kessler or Bute vs. Froch
I'm all for this fight, but where does that put the status of Bute-Andrade II? Can Bute take an "optional defense" against Green without getting in trouble with the IBF? Either way this should be a good scrap, and I'll go out on a limb and take Green TKO 10.
No...

Green is just another soft Yank, he has no heart, he ran like a coward in the Miranda fight. Bute by dominant KO
