Former champion Oscar Larios (69-7, 39KOs) is on vacation with his family and rethinking the future of his career. He lost his WBC featherweight title by way of decision in a rematch with Takahiro Aoh on March 12 in Japan. In the next week, he plans to sit down with trainer Edison Reinoso and agent Rafael Mendoza to discuss the future of his career.

Larios should have retired years ago. He suffered such a beating at the hands of Jorge Linares in July 2007, that a post-medical exam revealed a minor subdural hematoma (bleeding of the brain). He was immediately placed under an indefinite suspension by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. He is still banned from fighting in the United States. He was able to work around the ban by fighting in other countries. In what many considered to be a criminal act, the WBC allowed him to challenge for their interim-featherweight title last year and elevated him to full champion when Linares moved up to super featherweight.

"We are already taking a look at the career of Larios to decide if he should continue in boxing or retire. We are going to make the best possible decision for Larios and in the next ten days we should know what is going on with his career," Mendoza told the Mexican Record . "We will meet as a team and conscientiously take a look at the pros and the cons if he plans to continue in boxing and we will make a decision as a team."

[QUOTE=MaYaN_SuN;4938636]I remember the first time I saw him fight, lol it was on HBO Latino. Dude could bang in his prime. Vasquez got em, but Paq couldn't. He even managed to rock Paq with a left hook lol. But yeah, what is he like 50 fighs plus? He should hang em up, that Linares fight looked ...

no shame in hanging-up the gloves at this point. I like Larios just as I like Jorge Arce. GOOD LUCK TO YOU CHOLOLO!

I never liked him but he did his thing and has earned my respect......you don't have to like someone to respect them.......props to Oscar, good career and good choice to hang it up!

Good for him. Five years ago he would have Ko'd Aoh instead of losing a one-sided decision. He should have retired years ago
