According to Ricky Hatton's legal counsel, Gareth Williams, Hatton and his team will only consider a fight with Manny Pacquiao, on May 2, if the deal is a 50-50 split. It was revealed that Pacquiao is looking for a higher precentage, as much as a 60-40 split. Franklin Gacal, Pacquiao's lawyer, said Manny will not accept an equal split of the money.

Gacal even threatened to find a new opponent for the May date if the two sides could not reach a deal. Williams says that Pacquiao's promoter, Bob Arum, promised them a 50-50 split.

"We already have a verbal agreement from Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum that it would be 50/50 split for the contest. We have said all along that that is all we are prepared to do, and Arum has agreed to the equal share," Williams told Telegraph Sport.

I seriously doubt that Hatton will fight for anything less then a 50/50 split.
