Two weeks ago, Floyd Mayweather Sr. begged the new fighter in his stable, Ricky Hatton, to give up his crazy lifestyle with the late night partying and heavy drinking. Hatton's bad habits cause him to put on between 40-50 pounds between fights, and forces him to focus training camps on squeezing back down to 140-pounds. Hatton is also known for going through a drinking run, or two, during camp.

"He needs to keep his body in shape in between fights; no more than 10-15-pounds each time. You can't play at this. He needs to stop drinking. Period," Mayweather Sr. said.

Hatton says the drinking will continue and Mayweather Sr. will just have to live with it.

"That ain't going to happen," Hatton told the Mail on Sunday. "I'm 30 years old and I'd still go down the pub with the lads, and that will never, ever change. That's me - that's what makes me who I am to a degree. If you took the fiery side away from Roy Keane or Wayne Rooney they wouldn't be half the players they are."

"I work to live, not live to work and I like to let my hair down. I know I do it a bit more and a bit heavier than most, but I know that and I have to deal with that. To be honest, if I only had to lose 3-pounds before a fight then I'd probably go out drinking the week before anyway."

Hatton and Mayweather Sr. will face their first test together on November 22 against Paulie Malignaggi.
Also what ****ing difference does drinking out of training make? It's just like eatting something unhealthy (Loads of boxers do, look at Mayweather he eats sweets and all sorts) It's just because alcohol has that stigma. He's never missed weight, He has great stamina, He's...
Forearm smash? Looked like the bottom of the glove landed to me and no skin. That's legal in my book. The ref called the KD , Joe was hurt and admitted it, so move on from there. The KD i called and the uppercut Roy landed in 6 would have KO'd anybody else in t...
So delusional. So wrong. The early KD was a right forearm smash. Getting hit with an uppercut does not mean you were close calling a knockout. Roy did not compete with Joe. Joe did wipe the floor with Roy. Joe landed more than 10-15 punches. Ridiculo...
