WBO welterweight champion Paul Williams (35-1, 26KOs) impressed a lot of people with his crushing first-round blowout of Andy Kolle during Thursday's VERSUS card. The Kolle bout, held at middleweight, left a lot of questions as to the weight division for Williams' next fight, scheduled for November 29 on HBO.

According to Williams' promoter, Dan Goossen, the opponent and the weight-division is still up in the air but he plans to secure the biggest fight possible. Williams will campaign at multiple weight divisions, willing to fight anyone from 147 to 168-pounds.

"What Paul is doing is not very common in boxing. It goes back to the old days. We want to get Paul the biggest fight that we can, preferably at 147 to defend his title If we can't get a challenge at the level we are looking to get, we will then address the 154-pound division," Goossen said.

During the last few weeks, Shane Mosley has been campaigning for a fight with WBA champion Antonio Margarito in early 2009. Goossen says that Mosley should stop worrying about his chances to land Margarito, when Williams is more than willing to fight him.

"I would like to see Shane Molsey talk a little bit more about Paul Williams. It's a tremendous fight for both fighters. I know Mosley wanted a rematch with Miguel Cotto and now wants Margarito because he beat Cotto, but Williams beat Margarito. A fight with Paul Williams is as big, if not bigger than [a fight] Margarito," Goossen said.

"If he wants to fight Margarito first, we understand. He is less of a challenge than getting in the ring with Paul. I've learned that you can't make people fight even if you throw money at them in the millions. The best thing for us is to continue to do what we are doing. Paul's move gives us a much larger selection of people to fight; it also gives us a larger selection of fighters who stay away."

"I never have a problem with a fighter saying no. Just don't act like you are the best of your division. Don't go out there and say that you are the best of your division when the fight you turned down happens to be against that man. Paul has a habit of making fearless fighters fearful."

P-will got alot of options... Winky would be high risk low reward, i doubt this fight will happen Clottey might happen, but i think Williams is more interested in fighting above WW for now Jennings, his mandatory - most likely to happen Margarito II - 2009 Cotto - doubt Forrest - maybe ...

Bob Arum is afraid of williams not margarito himself. Arum wants to exploit and squeeze more money on margarito by pairing him with bums and less capable fighters. After that, the much awaited rematch with cotto- a really money fight. I do like paul williams now the way what he is doing...
he should fight winky. 2 guys who are willing to fight in multiple weight classes. definitely a very respectable trait.
this fight is actually interesting, it would be good. Winky won't be able to hurt Williams too. And we'll see how Williams can bang through Winky...

Whoop somebody else at 147 and keep his world ranking there. I wanna see the rematch wit Marg. If he is gonna blow off 147, then Forrest should be his man. That'd be an ill fight.
