While Joe Calzaghe continues to tell the media that his final career fight will happen on November 8 in New York's Madison Square Garden, his opponent, Roy Jones Jr., has big plans for the future.

If he beats Calzaghe, Jones plans to target the winner of Kelly Pavlik vs. Bernard Hopkins, taking place on October 18, and the winner of Antonio Tarver vs. Chad Dawson, happening on October 11.

When asked if he was going after the Pavlik-Hopkins winner, Jones would acknowledge the move, but also said the winner of Tarver-Dawson was an option as well.

"That [Pavlik-Hopkins] or the winner of Dawson vs. Tarver, one or the other," Jones told BoxingScene.com's Bill Emes.

For Jones, the more lucrative fight would be against the winner of Pavlik-Hopkins. Jones won a decision over Hopkins in 1993 to capture the vacant IBF middleweight title. The two fighters could never reach an agreement for a rematch. Pavlik, if he beats Hopkins, would be the perfect fight for Jones to take as a career closer. Would Pavlik be willing to take a third fight above the middleweight limit and risk being stripped?

Dawson may not present enough money and would fall as the second to last option if he wins. Jones has already fought Tarver three-times and it would take a lot for one of the networks to buy their fourth encounter, especially when considering the in-ring performance of the third fight.

There has been 4 years now for him to recover and think about what happened and I think he is mental...
RJJ's legacy is already so impressive...where would he be on the ATG list if he rematched and beat Johnson and then another titlist?
Probably at the very TOP. But actually his greatness doesn't depend on this. Therer are just some fighters, who, during certain pe...
