French flyweight Brahim Asloum, currently training in Miami, will vacate the EBU 112 lb title to concentrate on his world title ambitions. Asloum fights next July 9 in a twelve rounder with opponent to be announced this week. If all goes well Brahim will then go for the WBA title held by Luis Parra December 5 in Paris.

 

Spotlight Boxing promotes in Cuxhaven June 26 with EuroSport televising. Jr middle Khoren Gevor and supermiddle Dimitri Sartison headline.

 

Stefano Zoff vs Leavander Johnson for the vacant IBF 135 lb title has been postponed from June 10 to June 17 due to a bad cold suffered by Zoff. Site remains Milano.

 

As previously reported, Pierre Kabassu passed away at the age of 52 in Differdangen (Luxembourg). Kabassu fought the best in Europe at lightheavy and heavy during his fighting days. Later he trained EBU jr welter champ Valery Kayumba.

 

Frenchman Mustapha Bouzid has withdrawn as challenger for the vacant EU 147 lb title. Co-challenger is Italian Michele Orlando.
