Mexican legend Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. has frowned at the idea of a cross-sport boxing match between former five division world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (49-0, 26 KOs) and UFC superstar Conor McGregor.

The two popular athletes have been discussing the idea of facing each other in the boxing ring for several months. Their taunts have really heated up in the last few weeks.

Mayweather, 40 years old, retired from the sport in September of 2015 after winning a twelve round decision over Andre Berto.

Earlier this week, Mayweather issued an ultimatum to McGregor - sign a contract or shut his mouth about the fight. The undefeated boxer has officially "unretired" but only for the sole purpose of taking part in a fight with McGregor.

McGregor wants the fight, but has a major hurdle to overcome - his exclusive contract with the UFC. The organization is not willing to allow their biggest pay-per-view star to enter a contest where he will likely get dominated from start to finish.

Chavez Sr. views the fight as an absolute mismatch on the highest level, because he feels McGregor has no business in a boxing ring - especially against one of the best boxers in the history of the sport.

In his current physical state, and with no training camp to prepare himself, Chavez Sr. feels confident that he could beat McGregor in a boxing match with no problem.

"A fight between Mayweather Jr. and McGregor is a fraud, it's crap. This is a good business for the morbid. McGregor has no chance against Mayweather Jr. I can assure you that at my age of 54 years, and in my current physical state, and without having trained enough - I am able to defeat the UFC star," Chavez said.

"As I am right now, if they put [McGregor] in there with me, I can beat him without any problems."
