WBA junior welterweight champion Adrien Broner is a wanted man -- after allegedly beating the crap out of a guy outside a Cincinnati bowling alley in a violent robbery with a gun ... TMZ Sports has learned.

A source with knowledge of the incident confirms ... Broner has been charged with felonious assault and aggravated robbery and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Multiple sources connected to the case tell us the incident in question went down around 3:30 AM on January 21st -- after Broner and another man had been making high stakes bets with each other at the lanes.

The alleged victim told police ... Broner had lost thousands of dollars in bowling bets and was pissed when the alleged victim decided to call it a night and go home with his winnings.

Our sources say ... the man claims Broner waited for him outside of the alley and punched him in the face and neck -- nearly knocking the man out cold.

The alleged victim told cops Broner went to his car and got a gun at one point -- and when he came back, he forcibly took all the money in the man's wallet ... a ton of cash.

We're told the alleged victim was hospitalized -- and needed stitches to close a gash on his chin.

We reached out to Broner and his camp multiple times for comment -- so far, no word back.

Broner returns to the ring on April 1, when he defends his world title against Ashley Theophane of the UK.
