For the exciting career of WBC flyweight world champion Roman "Chocolatito" González, 2016 is a year that looks to be even better than 2015, when he got placed at the top of the boxing world as the pound-for-pound king following the retirement of Floyd Mayweather.

Carlos Blandon, who manages the three-time champion, sat down with Tu Nueva Radio and discussed the fture ahead for his boxing.

Gonzalez (44-0, 38KOs) returns on April 23rd at The Forum in Los Angeles. He will face McWilliams Arroyo.

"We have a meeting with them (HBO) in the coming weeks," said Blandon. "The HBO officials want to personally meet 'Chocolatito' and surely this will be (something of significant impact). The impact is great in terms of economics, but parallel to this is the recognition as a boxing superstar.

Gonzalez last fought in October, when he was the co-feature to the middleweight unification between Gennady Golovkin and David Lemieux at New York's Madison Square Garden.

One of Gonzalez's goals is to pursue a fourth world title in a fourth weight division, 115-pounds.

"With all certainty we're looking for the fourth crown. Roman has been champion at 105, 108 and 112 pounds. No Nicaraguan boxer has been champion in four different divisions, and that's our goal after the match against Arroyo. All of the sanctioning bodies are open to giving us the opportunity. The WBC, WBA, WBO and IBF want Román as their 115-pound champion, so that's no problem, " said Blandon said.

Their goal of a staging  a rematch with current WBO/WBA flyweight champion Juan Franciso Esrada is still very much a target.

"I never would have slip away from Estrada. I think they have a lot of things that are simply not true. I mean they invent things that are not true. This is a business and Fernando Beltran (promoter for Estrada) must understand that we are looking for ways get the best revenue, but I think the fight will."
