Sammy “Hurricane” Valentin made his pro debut on an All Star Boxing card just over one year ago in his hometow of Tampa, Florida. With year two beginning in the same setting, it only made sense to officially join the family.

The local unbeaten welterweight prospect inked a long-term deal with All Star Boxing, which will officially begin with tonight's showdown versus Moises Carasquillo at A La Carte Pavilion.

“I'm proud to have signed with All Star which I consider a family, I will do my part and I’m sure to be in good hands,” said the 21-year old Valentin (4-0, 3KOs).

His bout will serve in supporting capacity to a Telemundo-televised main event between Daniel Lozano and David Quijano.

Valentin comes in having scored two straight knockouts, including a 1st round stoppage of Christopher Jimenez this past July, also at A La Carte. Friday's bout will mark his third appearance at the venue, with all of his career fights to date having taken place in the Tampa/St. Petersburg region.

All Star Boxing traditionally sets up camp in Tampa three times per year, each event featured on Telemundo. Given that, it was a no brainer for the company to sign the promising prospect.

“Its no surprise to me to have signed Sammy, him and his Father has been like Family to us, I’m sure to have a future superstar PPV fighter, time will tell,” said promoter Felix 'Tutico' Zabala, Jr.

Added Ruben De Jesus, director of operations for All Star Boxing: “I have known Hurricane since the amateurs, he's got the potencial and I told Tuto for a while we need to sign him, he will be the future of Tampa area.”
