In the immediate aftermath of his victory over Manny Pacquiao on May 2nd, Floyd Mayweather announced that he would be vacating all five of his world titles - among them the WBO welterweight championship.

As Top Rank formally announced the match-up between Tim Bradley and Jesse Vargas for June 27th at the StubHub Center, Bob Arum stated that this would be contested for the now-vacated WBO title.

But in recent days it was reported that Mayweather is having second thoughts about abdicating the belts. Currently, the IBF welterweight strap is the only one missing from his collection at 147-pounds (which also includes the WBC and WBA 154-pound straps).

But according to Arum on Monday afternoon, Bradley-Vargas will still have the same designation.

"It's for the title, that's what Paco (Valcarcel, the president of the WBO) assured me," BoxingScene was told by the veteran promoter.

Arum added that over the weekend  - "(Paco) was the one who told me to keep it for the title."
