WBC/WBA junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia (28-0, 16KOs) needs to look good on Saturday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. He headlines the Showtime televised card in a non-title fight against huge underdog Rod Salka (19-3, 3KOs).

From the moment the fight was officially announced, fans have criticized the bout from top to bottom.  Garcia was not impressive earlier this year when pulled out a controversial twelve round decision over Mauricio Herrera. There were many who scored the fight in favor of Herrera. Garcia will have to make statement against Salka, and the champion knows that anything short of a spectacular win is a disappointment.

"I think it’s very important for me to go out there and look good August 9.  I’ve got to go in there and look like a champion.  I’ll fight at the Barclays Center.  I love the atmosphere there.  It’s a beautiful arena.  I’m very motivated.  I did everything right this camp.  I haven’t made a lot of mistakes sparring, so I’m looking good.  I’m looking sharp and come August 9 there’s going to be another excellent performance and I’m going to go in there and try to give my fans a knockout," Garcia said.
