A great night of boxing took place in Reading, properly titled “Reading Rumble #2”, Marshall Kauffman of King’s Promotion invaded the Santander Arena, Reading, Pennsylvania and  put an exciting card featuring up and coming prospects one being super featherweight Frank Alba.

Frank Santos De Alba, fighting out of Reading, PA via Bayamon, Puerto Rico (13-1-2, 5 knockouts) took on the rugged and tough Mundo Hispano Featherweight champion Pablo Batres, of Nogales, Mexico (7-10-1, 2 knockouts). The Mexican fighter’s last fight was on 01/25/14 where he defeated Saul Hermosillo and promised reporters De Alba will be his fourth win in a row.

In what was supposed to be the toughest fight to date for Alba, he was able to showcase his skills against the rugged Batres, who was not as quick as the Puerto Rican fighter. As the fights went on it was evident that speed was not the only thing that would be a deciding factor against Batres, the power from De Alba was just too much for the Mexican champion.

De Alba stopped Pablo Batres, in the fifth round of their scheduled eight-rounder.  A brutal body shot was delivered and that sealed the fate of the Mexican warrior.  The win earned De Alba the UBF super featherweight championship belt. Alba has now won 11 fights in a row.

Danny Lugo, of Harrisburg (3-7-0, 1 knockout) pulled the upset win over Pat Kehoe, Reading (1-1-0, 0 knockouts) by majority decision in four-round welterweight matchup. Lugo is now 2-6 his last 8 fights.  Judge: Dave Greer 38-38 | Judge: Mike Somma 39-37 | Judge: Eric Dali 40-36

Rolando Chinea, Lancaster (8-0-1, 5 knockouts) stopped Robert Ramos, Allentown (1-3-1, 1 knockout) at 2:01 of the second round of their lightweight matchup. Chinea wanted to add another victim to the “R” list, his last three opponents first names started with the letter R.

On 02-21-14 he faced Raphael Luna, on 4-21-14 he faced Ronnie Reams and last night he added Robert Ramos on the list.

Chinea’s is looking to stay busy as he is already scheduled to fight on July 18, 2014 at the Hanover Armory, Hanover, Pennsylvania.  The 31 year old Ramos is now winless in his last 4 bouts.
