Former WBA 'regular' heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin (27-1, 19KOs) is looking to return to the ring in October. Povetkin will return from a very impressive seven round destruction of Manuel Charr from May 30th in Moscow. The goal for Povetkin is a rematch with Wladimir Klitschko, who owns the WBO, WBA, IBO and IBF world titles. Wladimir won a dominating twelve round decision over Povetkin last year.

"At the moment I should have at least three fights with my coach so we could understand each other and correct some tactical errors. Of course, my goal - is to get a fight with Wladimir. But most importantly - I'm not saying I want it right away. Klitschko has more than sixty fights, but I have only twenty. I need to gain experience, but that does not mean that I'm afraid. Again, I'll reach the position of mandatory challenger and then we will meet in the ring," Povetkin said.

"The plans for now is to fight in late October. Against who? We do not know yet, we will review the situation in the rankings."
