The quiet atmosphere of the Augusto C. Sandino International Airport in Nicaragua became a chaotic scene after former world champion Ricardo "El Matador" Mayorga showed to up to confront his next opponent, Wesley Tiffer. Mayorga makes his Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) debut on May 3 at Pharaohs Casino in Managua.

Tiffer was arriving to the country a little early and did not receive the welcome he expected, when Mayorga was there to greet him with insults and challenged to fight him in the airport.

"I wanted to make sure with my own eyes that you were coming," said Mayorga, 40. "Look at me, I'm at 164 pounds. I just need to lose four pounds and I'm ready to win. I'm really angry. I'm from the country where women give birth to real men. You'll get a reputation for the beating that I'm going to give you. I am the world champion. I will punish you and knock you out. Come on!"

Meanwhile, Tiffer and his coaches were amazed with the scene.

"I do not expect to see him here. He is probably my biggest fan and he hasn't said anything intellectual. We are only a week away and you will get a clear account of what he can do in MMA. I'm not afraid. There is no way that he can win. I'm going to close his mouth," said Tiffer.
