Juan Manuel Lopez (31-2, 28 KO's) is expecting to return in April or May and he wants to fight for a world title at 130 pounds. Although Juanma is a product of the WBO, he will probably target one of the sanctioning body champions because the WBO super featherweight title is held by his close friend and fellow Puerto Rican Roman 'Rocky' Martinez. After months of being away, Juanma returns to the ring this weekend in Bayamon against Aldimar Santos Silva of Brazil.
"I want to stay at 130 pounds. That's the idea. Originally this date [of 2/8] was planned for me to move up in weight but [Orlando] Salido upset everything. We will see what's negotiated and if HBO will give me this great opportunity. If [Nonito] Donaire wants to gain weight, here we are. This division is going to be good. Juan Carlos Burgos and Salido are here. There are big names. I did not mention Rocky because he's my brother and I do not want to fight him," Juanma said.
