Las Vegas, NV - Cuban junior middleweight star Erislandy Lara, speaking from his training camp in Houston, states that he's going to put on a explosive performance in his next ring appearance. He wants to show that he can defeat any of the current champions at super welterweight. Lara will face Ronald Hearns in a Showtime televised fight on February 11th at the MGM in Las Vegas.

“We are focused on Hearns. Everyone from the trainer, manager and the promoters Bluewave Boxing are Golden Boy Promotions, are focused on the end of this commitment and then we plan to search for future opponents like [Miguel] Cotto, [Sergio] Martínez, Canelo Álvarez or [James] Kirkland,” said Lara.

The Cuban star added “step by step, we are advancing. We are entrusted that 2012 is our year, knowing that a world title fight is very close. We have to beat Ronald Hearns on February 11th at the MGM in Las Vegas.”

“Next week we will finish the strongest stage of this training camp in Houston. On February 8th we will come to Las Vegas to be present at the press conference, the weigh-in and the fight. Earlier I said to you that this is the best and most extensive period of trainings that [trainer Ronnie] Shields and I have been through for any fight. We are ready to be 100% and we have fulfilled all of our goals."
