Rising star and top boxing prospect Omar Henry plans to continue his undefeated streak in Anaheim, CA on December 3, 2011 as part of the undercard for the Abner Mares versus Joseph Agbeko IBF bantamweight title fight. Henry sporting and impressive 11-0 record with 9 knockouts, eight coming in the first round, is one of the most promising and emerging prospects in the sport today.  Henry will fight at the Honda Center against an opponent yet to be determined.  Voted one of the top boxing prospects by The Ring Magazine and The Daily Sports Herald, Henry is on his way to a long and prosperous career.

Coming off his first victory against Chris Tyler in June in St. Charles, Missouri under the promotion of Don King Productions, Henry is in great condition for his next fight. Henry a Chicago native, now living in Puerto Rico, is a four-time Texas Golden Gloves champion, a runner up in the 2007 National Golden Gloves Tournament, and a member of USA Elite Boxing Program.  Henry was also the recent sparring partner for Antonio Margarito in preparation for his rematch and title fight with Miguel Cotto.

Henry stated, “I am very excited, because I have a fight coming up myself on the same day. This was a great opportunity for me to train, stay in shape, and get some publicity. So everything was all good.”

The Southern California-based fight will be televised on Showtime and feature Anselmo Moreno vs. Vic Darchinyan and Carlos Molina vs. Manuel Leyva as part of the card.

Henry expressed his love for travel, saying “I have been everywhere because I love to travel. One of my goals is to travel the whole world. I am just so blessed to be in a sport, like boxing, that is international and gives me the opportunity to see the world.”

Henry has been in training in Puerto Rico, Chicago, Mexico, Houston and Las Vegas for the past 4 months as part of developing his training levels, improving his skills and promoting his upcoming fight. As Henry continues his training, he was very confident, stating:

“Right now I am in great shape. My body is ripped. I really look forward to my next fight in California. California is one of my favorite places to visit and I have a lot of fans there. I really want to give my fans a great show.”

Henry has championship potential and many in the boxing community are following his career closely to see what the future will hold.
