Heavyweight contender Tomasz Adamek believes he is facing WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko at the right time. Some of the critics are telling the tough Polish boxer that he should have waited a little bit longer before challenging Klitschko for the WBC heavyweight title on September 10 in Poland. Adamek, a former champion at light heavyweight and cruiserweight, is the mandatory challenger to Klitschko's title and doesn't feel it's a good idea to postpone such a lucrative opportunity.

"There is no reason to wait, because the years are flying by, and this proposal may never come again. I have never been afraid of challenges. I had a broken nose in the fight for the WBC championship belt, at light heavyweight against Paul Briggs of Australia - and I won the bloody war. Later, although they discouraged me, I moved to a bigger division, moved to the United States and beat Steve Cunningham to take away his IBF belt," Adamek said to Janusz Pinder.

"So now I moved up to heavyweight and I still continue to win. I am aware that Klitschko is the most difficult obstacle in reaching my goal of winning a world title in a third division, but I believe in myself and the work they I've done under the supervision of Roger Bloodworth."
