At the post fight press conference of Saturday's fight between Marcos Maidana and Erik Morales, I caught up with newly-crowned IBF junior welterweight champion Zab Judah, who was an interested spectator inside of the MGM Grand last night. Maidana would pull out a very tough twelve round majority decision in a fight that many felt Morales should have won after delivering a stirring performance.

Judah personally loved the two-way action but feels that the Tijuana pug did enough to get his hands raised.

"Great fight tonight," coined Judah. "You got to give it to Erik Morales. You've got to give a lot of credit for the heart that he showed with his eyed closed from round one through round twelve. In there with a stronger puncher. People can say what they way to say but I saw the fight for Erik Morales."

With the win Maidana recaptured the interim WBA junior welterweight crown that he once held and Judah can't help but to toy with the thought of the rugged Argentinean as a future foe.

"You know what? We both campaign in the same weight class. I give him respect as a champion. When I'm at the fights I'm a fan of all fighters. Inside of the ring and if the fight should ever pop up and if Marcos should be next I will defeat him too," said a brash Judah.

On the undercard of last night's main event Robert Guerrero captured a huge win with a trouncing of Australia's Michael Katsidis. Having won titles now at 126, 130, and 135 pounds as he scored the interim WBA and WBO belts last night, 'The Ghost' has hinted that he would love endeavors at even higher weight classes. Guerrero mentioned Floyd Mayweather as a man he'd love to face but has also thrown Judah's name into the mix.

I asked Judah whether he felt Guerrero could be effective at 140 and 147 pounds.

"You can't count him out," said Judah. "He's my brother in Christ. I have all due respect for him. I was on Twitter tonight and I was tweeting about the fights. I am a fan of Guerrero because we shared the same card one time and I don't know. He said my name in the midst of calling people out but that's what you are supposed to say when you are moving up."

While Maidana and Guerrero would be intriguing matches in their own right, Judah has been clamoring for a fight with WBA and WBO lightweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez. Once hyped for the contest, Judah admits that his focus will surely waiver if something doesn't come about by the end of the month.

"Juan Manuel Marquez is a fight I want next but if it should not happen, I will give it two to three weeks, I am always in shape as you can see. I'm ready to fight and I'll be looking for the next opponent."
