Trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr. says he would have made WBC/WBA junior middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez go to a catch-weight of 150-pounds for the fall clash with Floyd Mayweather Jr. The match, taking place on September 14th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, is contracted for a catch-weight of 152-pounds, which is two pounds below the junior middleweight limit. According to Canelo and his team, Mayweather first requested a weight of 147, then 150 and two sides finally agreed on 152.

"I think this fight can be as easy as Guerrero," he said to the Grand Rapids Press. "I would've made him come to 150. I would've made him suffer.  I would've said, 'I'm not helping you out, I'm not giving you nothing.'"

"Whatever Alvarez throws, we plan on catching what he does and countering, whatever he does. Whatever he does, believe me, Floyd is going to be ahead of him."
