Puerto Rican boxer Hector "Coco" Sanchez (19-3, 9 KO's) died early Sunday morning after a shootout exploded on Main Street, corner of 4th Street, in Barrio Obrero. Sanchez was shot twice, once in the abdomen and once in the head and died at a local medical center while two died at the scene and the third died nearby. Police have no idea why the incident occured. No drugs or large portions of money were found at the scene. The other fatalities include Luis Muñoz Castro, 42 years; Rivera Garcia, 43, and Marcos Javier Rosario Tanco, 40.

Sanchez, 26-years-old, last fought in September losing by way of a fifth round TKO to Julio Diaz.

According to Major Israel Vazquez Rivera, one of the deceased, whose identity was not revealed, was being investigated for murder.

Sanchez joins Puerto Rican fighters Hector 'Macho' Camacho and Kenneth Diaz both of which were recently killed under similar circumstances.
