It was reported a few days ago that Tomasz Adamek (48-2, 29 KOs) withdrew from a final IBF heavyweight eliminator with undefeated Kubrat Pulev (17-0, 9 KOs). The winner would have become the mandatory challenger to unified champion Wladimir Klitschko.

"I have been offered an opportunity to fight in Poland for far more money than I would get for fighting Kubrat Pulev,” Adamek said in a statement. “Meaning no disrespect to Pulev, he has never held a major title and never headlined a televised card. Any money generated by the promotion would, for the most part, be generated by my popularity. I owe it to my family to engage in the most financially rewarding bouts, and engaging in a bout with Kubrat Pulev at this time simply does not make financial sense. "

Adamek's comments have created a mountain of speculation in Poland on who he will fight in coming months.

According to statements from several Polish networks - including Polsat, nSport and Canal Plus - no recent offer has ever been made to Adamek for a big event in Poland.

It will be interesting to see who, and where, Adamek fights next.
